We can treat you in so many ways as a Watervale Hotel Guest. With just 24 hours notice we can prepare gourmet breakfasts, fill your fridge with beverages, or schedule amazing experiences such as our Farm Tour and Degustation.Â

Farm Tour & Degustation
You will be encouraged to hear, see, smell, feel and taste your way through the farm as you learn about organic, bio-dynamic and permaculture farming. Dinner will be a 6 course degustation at the Hotel sitting at the Chef’s Table.
$225 per person, $300 including classic wine or mocktail match, or $350 with Icon Wine Match.Â
Teach me, Feed me
A Clare Valley Wine Masterclass – six wines including iconic Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon back vintage followed by a Feed me lunch which includes snacks and four courses. Guests will learn about Clare Valley terroir, geology, geography and what makes our wines so diverse and positively different. Â

Watervale Walks
Watervale to Mount Horrocks
Immerse yourself in the scenic Watervale region, well known for its world-class Riesling. Walk through the historic township of Watervale into classic Clare Valley countryside of vineyards, cellar doors and rolling hills as you make your way to the Mount Horrocks lookout to enjoy the spectacular 360-degree views; some of the best in the region. This walk predominantly follows the Lavender Federation Trail and includes back roads which take you onto private property with a climb up to Mt Horrocks lookout. Unfortunately, you don’t climb Mount Horrocks itself but the view is no less spectacular from the top! A section of the Short Walk (Mount Horrocks Lookout) is located on private property. This section is closed during the bushfire season. The Short Walk that follows Council roads is accessible all year round. Distance: 11.5 km return Time: 3 hours return Classification: Grade 3..
Watervale Township Walk
Take yourselves for a walk around the historic town of Watervale. Starting at the Watervale Hotel. Visit the Watervale General store for all day Gourmet Breakfast. You will walk past the old post office on the east side of Horrocks Highway.

Induction Cooktop
- You must have a pot on the element to make the stovetop work
- You need to press on the + button and then run your finger along to increase the heat setting.
- If the light is on but it wont work it may have been locked.
- If the light is on but it wont work it may have been locked.
- To fix this put a pot on the element and hold down the little padlock symbol for 10 seconds. This should unlock the temperature.Â
Gas Hot Water
- We have an instantaneous gas hot water system. This should mean you will have beautiful hot water throughout your stay.
- We are in the county though and we do not have plumbed gas here.
- On the outside southern wall of the house is two large gas bottles. These have been checked before your arrival but in the unlikly event that you run out the change over switch just needs to be swapped between the empty bottle and the full bottle.
- In the very unlikely event that they are both empty please contact us at the hotel and we will bring more bottles up and change them for you.
Heating / Aircon
- We leave the main rooms going ready for you to check in if we think its either too cold or too hot. The bedrooms however we switch off to conserve energy.
- There is switches on the wall in the kitchen to control this.
- Please let s know if there is any problems with this.
Gas BBQ
- We have the gas plumbed for the BBQ directly from the big bottles, meaning you should not run out of gas during your stay.
- We do turn the vaulve to the closed position when its not being used.
- Simply turn this to the open position (running the same direction as the pipe) when you are using the BBQ.
- Please turn it off after use. (facing across the pipe)
- We are in the county though and we do not have plumbed gas here.
