Ethical Epicurean Experiences
Penobscot Restaurant is where our farm truly meets the plate – degustation dining at the chefs table – 10 seats in our kitchen for a intermate dining experience with Nicola and her team of chefs.
The Watervale Hotel offers epicurean experiences, and three different menu styles to suit every occasion.
We offer our a la carte menu and a ‘Feed Me’ menu from 11am to 9pm every day. We require 24 hours notice for Farm Tours and Group Feasts.Â
Our premier experience is dining in the Penobscot Restaurant – our ten seat degustation only restaurant seated at the Chefs Table. Degustation dining is served at lunch as 12 noon and 6pm for dinner. You can also do a Penobscot Farm Tour at 4 pm after lunch or before dinner.Â
Each course can be matched to Clare Valley Wines for $350 / head including farm tour, farm produce Mocktails for $325 / head or $375 / head with Clare Valley Gin match all inclusive.

Our degustation menu is a 10 course journey of individually plated gourmet delights featuring seasonal produce from Penobscot Farm and the other beautiful produce of our region. $150 / head. Sittings 12 noon and 6 pm daily.Â
Each course can be matched to Clare Valley Wines for $100, or farm produce Mocktails for an additional $75/head, or a Clare Valley Gin pairing $125 / head.Â
We recommend shared-plate feasts for group bookings.
Our Farm Feast features vegetables from Penobscot Farm, Lamb and Greenslade’s free-range chicken for $50 / head.
We can happily tailor a feast built on our Farm Feast to include red meat or upgrade the entree or dessert for between $60 and $75.
Our Gourmet Feast is not only more courses but a step up to dishes such as ceviche, carpaccio and steak on the bone for $95 /head.
A La Carte
Our farm fresh to plate ‘a la carte’ menu features fresh organic produce from Penobscot, and other local Farms.Â
There is an ever-changing selection of small and larger plates, all designed to be shared.Â
The role of our Chefs is to enhance and enrich the authentic and natural flavours of our local farms.Â

We offer accommodation and experience packages for one, two or three night stays at either our one bedroom Penobscot Farm Cottage, or the Watervale Hotel Guesthouse with six bedrooms – two king (one with en-suite) and four queen bedrooms.Â
Packages start from $850 / couple for one night at Penobscot Farm with Farm Tour, Degustation Dining at the Watervale Hotel and Breakfast at the Watervale General Store.Â
wine masterclass
We offer a comprehensive Wine Masterclass at 11 am daily for $120 / head.Â
The class covers history, culture, climate, geology and geography to explain the diversity and virtues of Clare Valley wines.
The iconic wine tasting includes back-vintage wines from Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon.Â
