Ethical Epicurean Experiences
The Watervale Hotel offers epicurean experiences, and three different menu styles to suit every occasion.
We offer our a la carte menu and a ‘Feed Me’ menu from 11am to 9pm every day. We require 24 hours notice for Farm Tours, Degustation Dining, and Group Feasts.
Our premier experience is the Penobscot Farm Tour at 4 pm followed by a Six Course individually plated Degustation dinner at 6 pm.
Each course can be matched to Clare Valley Wines or farm produce Mocktails. $300 / head all inclusive.
Upgrade to Icon Wine Pairing that features back-vintage Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon wines for an extra $50 / head.
Our degustation menu is a 6 course journey of individually plated gourmet delights featuring seasonal produce from Penobscot Farm and the other beautiful produce of our region. $125 / head. Sittings 12 noon and 6 pm daily.
Each course can be matched to Clare Valley Wines or farm produce Mocktails for an additional $75/head, or Icon pairing which features back vintage Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon wines for $125 / head.
We recommend shared-plate feasts for group bookings.
Our Farm Feast features vegetables from Penobscot Farm, Lamb and Greenslade’s free-range chicken for $50 / head.
Our Gourmet Feast is not only more courses but a step up to dishes such as ceviche, carpaccio and steak on the bone for $95 /head.
We can match wines to either Feast format.
A La Carte
Our farm fresh to plate ‘a la carte’ menu features fresh organic produce from Penobscot, and other local Farms.
There is an ever-changing selection of small and larger plates, all designed to be shared.
The role of our Chefs is to enhance and enrich the authentic and natural flavours of our local farms.
We offer accommodation and experience packages for one, two or three night stays at either our one bedroom Penobscot Farm Cottage, or the Watervale Hotel Guesthouse with six bedrooms – two king (one with en-suite) and four queen bedrooms.
Packages start from $850 / couple for one night at Penobscot Farm with Farm Tour, Degustation Dining at the Watervale Hotel and Breakfast at the Watervale General Store.
We offer a comprehensive Wine Masterclass at 11 am daily for $120 / head.
The class covers history, culture, climate, geology and geography to explain the diversity and virtues of Clare Valley wines.
The iconic wine tasting includes back-vintage wines from Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon.
Add a Feed me lunch for $200 / head all inclusive.

We have our own six bedroom guesthouse next door that can sleep 6 couples. Let us spoil you with farm tours, inhouse chefs or dining packages.
Penobscot Farm cottage
Penobscot Farm Cottage is a rustic 1860’s Cottage set on our 14 hectare property. 1 bedroom so perfect for that little getaway. Why not package it up with some Watervale Hotel experiences.
Our menu is seasonal, driven by produce from our own organic, bio dynamic Penobscot Farm.
