The organic and bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm supplies Penobscot Restaurant, the Watervale Hotel, and Watervale General Store. It is on 14 hectares on the outskirts of Watervale. Penobscot Farm Cottage is an 1860’s rustic one bedroom cottage. It is very private looking out over the hillside and ridge. Breakfast provisions are provided in the Cottage.

- On the second night stay in the cottage and enjoy a shared platter entrée, casserole, wood oven sour dough bread, a bottle of wine from our Cellars without Doors collection (Riesling or Red), Grounded Pleasure’s hot chocolate, and home-made marshmallows. You can even light a fire out back to toast your marshmallows.

Penobscot Farm is part of a larger tourism group operated by owners Nicola and Warrick. The Farm is their home. They also operate the Award-winning Watervale Hotel, open 11am - 9pm. Our lovely staff are therefore accessible to help with any questions, travel recommendation's or bookings most of each day.

Guests staying at Penobscot Farm Cottage will have a number of privileges.
- We can do dine and stay packages.
- Guests receive priority booking privileges for the Hotel’s private dining rooms.Â
- Guests can book tours of our organic and biodynamic Penobscot Farm.
- We can prepare set menu’s designed around the preferences of guests, including wine pairing.
- Sit outside in the beer garden, or along the veranda bar looking across at the Watervale Hotel’s Kitchen Garden.
- We can recommend Bike hire, Massage services as well as Tour Guide operators.Â

You will be encouraged to hear, see, smell, feel and taste your way through the farm as you learn about organic, bio-dynamic and permaculture farming. Learn about regenerative agriculture practices. Dinner will be a 6 course degustation at the Hotel.

Teach me, Feed me
Learn why Clare Valley wines are so special by attending an 11am Wine Masterclass in the Watervale Hotel featuring back-vintage wines from Wendouree, Grosset and Kilikanoon.
